Christopher Appleton practices in the areas of general civil litigation, personal Injury, wrongful death, professional liability (medical malpractice and attorney malpractice) construction defect, and real estate litigation.
Chris' legal experience has been wide; with a primary focus in civil trial work. For the first ten years of practice, he was either employed or retained exclusively by insurance companies defending the interests of individuals and companies who were being sued on a myriad of issues. Having trained at private insurance defense firms in the areas of general personal injury and real estate litigation; defending agents and brokers, he was hired by CNA insurance companies as a senior trial attorney. At CNA, he gained unparalleled experience in evaluating, negotiating and litigating a heavy load of complex personal injury and property damage cases from their inception through jury trial and appeal. His cases included wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, major property damage, product defect and construction defect disputes. In 1998, he started a litigation consulting firm with a focus on supporting and advising corporate and private law firms and insurance companies in civil litigation matters. Chris has litigated hundreds of cases involving major insurance carriers in California including CSAA, Farmers, Navigator's, State Farm, CNA, Continental, Travelers, TransAmerica, Fireman's Fund, Allstate, Geico and 21st Century. Chris’ experience and background in personal injury defense provides him with a unique perspective and approach in dealing with insurance claims and defendants in personal injury cases. Whether representing plaintiff or defendant, he is able to develop effective strategies to resolve disputes quickly, and in the most economical manner for the benefit of his clients.
Chris and Tony joined forces in 2007 to provide a wide variety of legal services at The Law Offices of Anthony Boskovich.
Chris graduated law school at Santa Clara University School of Law in 1990, and obtained his undergraduate degree from U.C. Davis with double majors in Political Science and Rhetoric and Communications in 1987. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea from 1978 to 1982.
Chris is admitted to practice in the courts of State of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.
When he's not at work, Chris carves out time for fun with his family, thinks up overwhelming construction projects at home , and spends any left over time under water; either spear fishing or abalone diving off the California coast.
